Kathleen is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in chemistry and a minor in music. She has been a private piano teacher for over 28 years and taught at a variety of private schools, home school co-ops and in her home studio. Teaching allowed her to spend more time with her children as they were growing up while working at a job she loves.

Educating students of all ages is her passion and finding ways to encourage a love of music is what she thinks is most important. Showing children their unique potential as they journey through music learning is also important in her classes. Adults will benefit from lessons, as learning to play an instrument has no age barriers. She utilizes the Faber and Faber teaching series and ensures her students learn note reading, finger placement, rhythm and use of musical expression to bring their music to life. Performances are also an important aspect of lessons and she tries for twice a year recitals so students are comfortable being in front of others. Kathleen always looks forward to working with students and their families. Family support is especially important in younger students.

Kathleen is married and has 3 children. Her oldest is an elementary teacher in Bluffton, her middle daughter is a classical guitarist and her son is a junior in college at UCF and a classical saxophonist.

Your Monthly Tuition includes a minimum of four 30-minute private lessons each month at a repeating scheduled day and time with the same instructor.
